AABC Divisions
The organization of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is structured into eight divisions: Stan Musial, Connie Mack, Mickey Mantle,
Sandy Koufax, Pee Wee Reese, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, and Single Age.
Stan Musial Division - Unlimited Age
The Stan Musial Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is our unlimited age. It appeals to players of any age. Reinstatement of ex professional baseball players is allowed. However, there can be no more than five (5) ex professional players on a team. Wooden bats were used for the first time in many years in the 2003 Musial. The Stan Musial World Series is held in Huntsville, Texas. John Smoltz, outstanding major league pitcher, played his last amateur game in the Musial.
Connie Mack Division - 18 and Under
The Connie Mack Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is our division for players 18 years and under. Each year we put together a team of our top 20 Connie Mack players to compete against players from PONY, RBI, Dixie, American Legion, Babe Ruth, USA Baseball and NABF in a round robin tournament in June. Players the caliber of Cal Ripken, Jr., Edgar Martinez, Ivan Rodriguez, Barry Larkin, Ken Griffey Jr., Ozzie Smith and Derek Jeter are products of the Connie Mack program. The Connie Mack World Series which is played in Farmington, New Mexico is attended by approximately 80,000 fans. Full paid transportation for the players is provided from the local sponsor and the AABC.
Mickey Mantle Division - 16 and Under
The Mickey Mantle Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is our division for players 16 years old and younger. This division provides our older divisions with quality players. It is an ideal age group for the high school Junior Varsity player or team. The Mickey Mantle World Series is held in McKinney, Texas.
Sandy Koufax Division - 14 and Under
The Sandy Koufax Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is our division for players 14 years old and younger. This division is played on 80 foot bases with a pitching distance of 54 feet. This is our largest program is terms of actual numbers. The Sandy Koufax World Series is held in Douglasville, Georgia.
Pee Wee Reese Division - 12 and Under
The Pee Wee Reese Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is our division for players 12 years old and younger. This division is played on 70 foot bases and has a pitching distance of 50 feet 6 inches. The Pee Wee Reese World Series is held in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. The trip to Puerto Rico for this age group is fantastic! No admission is charged and parents, players and guests are the recipients of the complimentary tournament banquet and bus.
Willie Mays Division - 10 and Under
The Willie Mays Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is our division for players 10 years of age and younger. The players in this division play regular baseball and begin to master the essential fundamentals which lead to the total development of a player. Pitchers learn to hold runners on base; runners learn to steal, catchers learn to throw--and they do it very well. It is played on 65 foot bases with a pitching distance of 46 feet. The Willie Mays World Series is held in Catano, Puerto Rico.
Roberto Clemente Division - 8 and Under
The Roberto Clemente Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress is our division for players 8 years of age and younger. It is played on 50 foot bases with a pitching distance of 40 feet. Regulation baseball rules are followed with a few base running exceptions. With a start of a few teams in two states, Roberto Clemente baseball now encompasses 1134 teams. Make no mistake, these young persons can play the great game of baseball. The Roberto Clemente World Series is held in McDonough, Georgia.
Single Age Division
The AABC has participation in ages 9, 11, 13 and 15. Any team which elects to participate as a single age, may play in a league consisting of: (1)
only single age teams; (2) teams with both ages; or (3) both. Each team must play a minimum six game league schedule and be registered with
the AABC National Office by June 15. Following league play, the winner of each single age league will advance to State Tournament Play. The winner from each state will then advance
to a World Series. Teams travel to Single Age World Series in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Brooklyn, New York; Battle Creek, Michigan; and Owasso,
Oklahoma.
